Six Points.

While everyone in the NTT IndyCar world is focused on the championship battle between Josef Newgarden, Alexander Rossi, Simon Pagenaud and Scott Dixon, the true battle to watch for the weekend is in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Series.

Hunter McElrea entered the weekend leading Braden Eves by Six Points.

By the end of qualifying for race 1 – Eves had cut the lead to 5 points.

The winner will receive a scholarship to race next year in the Indy Pro 2000 series, so it goes without saying that there is alot on the line for these young drivers.

Eves topped the speed charts in his Cape Motorsport entry with a 94.793 mph lap, topping McElrea in his Pabst Racing machine by .5229 seconds.

Recent 33 Dreams of Indy guest Christian Rasmussen will start 3rd in Race 1. The 33 Dreams of Indy guest mojo also worked for Colin Kaminsky as he will start 4th. Eduardo Barrichello with deForce Racing rounds out the top 5.

Make that Five Points

Speaking of Colin Kaminsky. He topped the charts in Practice 1 in his Pabst Racing Entry. It was great to see his race weekend prep pay off.
